Most classic cars neglected for years don’t often hit the road again, but this 1950 Studebaker Champion isn’t most cars.

This Studebaker was left to rot, abandoned a long 40 years ago.

But now, it’s getting a new chance at life.

In a recent video from the YouTube channel bah53, this 1950 Studebaker Champion looked like it had hit rock bottom.

It was partly sunken into the ground and covered in dust and several other interesting bits and pieces.

It certainly wasn’t in a good condition.

And thisNaturally, 40 years inside a barn also left this Studebaker in less than ideal-condition.

There was plenty of rust and some rotting, but it was nothing that couldn’t be fixed.

The YouTuber who took on the project also revealed a silver lining when he showed the state of the interior.

First wash in four decades reveals a surprise

Not only was the interior in pretty good condition, but they discovered the gas tank was also still intact.

To top it off, they also found a stock 170 cubic-inch inline-six engine.

These engines don’t have a reputation for having remarkable performance but are known for being super reliable.

After its first wash, this old Studebaker was on its way to looking pretty again.

Would it run perfectly again? Nobody could say for sure until the restoration was finished.

But at the very least, it would make for an excellent piece in a classic car museum.

After all, most cars parked in don’t hit the road.
